"Hello doc, I've been straining to poop for a while now, at a point I started seeing blood ad a matter of the strain I guess, I increased my water intake n was taking soft food and then it stopped for a while but it has started again and I'm seeing blood when I poop. what's going on? and what can I do?"

    Good evening. Thank you for the question. I am sorry about the difficulty you are having pooping. I observed you have made attempts to solve this with adequate fluids. i will suggest you take fruits and vegetables in abundance. If symptoms persist please see a doctor.

    Thank you very much for the answer. I've taken fruits but not in abundance like you said, so I'll give that a trial. I'm also breastfeeding exclusively at the moment, my baby is 10 weeks and I feel like it is affecting him too, meaning that he strains to poop too and I feel like sometimes his poop is dry too. Do you think it can affect my baby or is it my imagination?

    Abdominal colic which is what you described in common in first born sons. it resolves usually by 3 months. it is due to the child's intestine adjusting to the breast milk. dont be worried madam.
