"Hello Doctor Am a 36yr old male, For the past 2 yrs I been having constant fatigue whereby i wake up tired and sleep tired, i have difficulty concentrating and my short-term memory isn’t as good as it used to be. I notice that normal tasks seem hard to focus on, i am now more forgetful, am slowly forgeting things that i normally wouldn’t, i now have difficulty forming thoughts or carrying on conversations. I start something and uncharacteristically forget what i were doing soon after.Things that i would normally not forget,I only remember them when i forcus hard, My memory use to be very sharp What can i do to get my former self back? pls help"

    Evening. What you are describing seem like a form of dementia. You would need to see a neurologist and have a CT scan done to rule out any form of brain pathology as well. If you have any situation also that may be causing distraction in your routine daily activities you would also need to sort those out as well.

    It depends on your location but you can always see on at a tertiary hospital like a teaching hospital or federal medical Centre. About waking up tired? I'll like to know how many hours you sleep because not having enough sleep can also affect the memory. You need to sleep atleast 7 to 8 hours every night to feel refreshed in the morning.

    am based in Lagos, I have enough sleep everyday....most times I sleep upto 10hrs at night and am not under any stress that is not the normal everyday activities at work and home.
