so is it safe to use it for three months?...Because he told us that his doctor prescribed it for three months.
    Dr. Adedayo A answered:

3momths is a looking time to use a drug like this.it can cause dependence meaning the person needs more and more to get the desired effect.Unfortunately it's not a drug I have seen used where I work or worked nI Nigeria and drugs in it's class like diazepam or lexotan are not prescribed for that long. Again, only him can truly tell you why he is using it.

alright....as for me,I have this constant stomach pain that extends to my back plus heart burn....I have been placed on cementidine injection and I also took ulcer kit but still,no improvement...instead it gets worst.
    Dr. Adedayo A answered:

sorry about your pain madam...how long have you had this pain.what part of your tummy?is the heart burn different from the stomach pain.why were you given injections and how long for. if they want to try you on cimetidine,it may need to be orally and for 4weeks before considering drugs like omeprazole.presuming they are considering an ulcer

About 2 years now but it got serious about six months ago...I normally feel a sharp pain around my belly button..for the heart burn,it just comes anytime, sometimes early in the morning.I was given the injection just once with some drugs (Relcer) n after that,I was placed on the ulcer kit
    Dr. Adedayo A answered:
Ok...for the heart burn, you will need to persevere with the treatment and regular check ups.usually a month on ranitidine or a ppi like omepeazole/lansoprazole should settle this.if nothing you should be treated for h pylori and you should be checked for eradication by doing a breath test or stool antigen test 2weeks after TREATMENT for H pylori.....for the navel pain,it will be difficult to say what's causing it giving the random nature.it may be muscular in origin...does this Sharp navel pain subside immediately or is it there for a while, does it have any relationship with your menses. does it have any triggers or relieving factors.

it takes time to subside. I normally have serious menstrual pain to but it is different from that pain. Also,I normally get the pain anytime I take beans, soft drinks, pineapple or orange or any juice containing that. I have gone for ultrasound, stool and urine MCs and blood test, but nothing was found.

While ,I have never heard off a disease in particular triggered by these substances,I'm of the opinion that it's prudent we start by you avoiding These things ..it may be something called Irritable bowel symptoms, thought I admit not really.Irritable bowel syndrome get better sometimes by stooling.does this happen with you.

yes it does but that is when I take beans or milk...but for the pain from soft drinks,orange,etc...it dosent help
    Dr. Adedayo A answered:

..I think in this case ,you will need to stop taking these things until at least you have a diagnosis....That's the best thing for now.next thing will be to try to see a gastroenterologist...A good one.One that has your time.Investigations may be many and exhaustive but sometimes that's the only way we get answers as doctors...I had a patient last year who had been battling vomiting for about 3years..she had all sorts of tests.it was buy accident we eventually found out that her vomiting was triggered by cheese and some chocolates.the moment she stopped them, that was the end of it.for 6months now she has not vomited

Tnx Doc....pls my husband is having catarrh and cough with sore throat. He has not been able to go to work. pls what can you prescribe for him to take.
    Dr. Adedayo A answered:
Good morning madam... Its very likely its a viral infection...however I would advise regular over the counter cough and cold medicines...steam inhalation ,hot drinks, strepsils and lozenges. If this doesnt settle it,then he needs to have his neck and throat looked at to make sure his lymph nodes are not inflamed or have pus. If thats the cadr them he will need antibiotics which unfortunately, I'm not allowed to prescribe here.

Sorry,I have gone back up to read out chat from go...if you have had a history of ulcer or heart burns, arthotec may make the tummy pains it worse...if it does, then you may have to stick with paracetamol and the buscopan....I will chase up that email for you.meanwhile can you send them the email again using the feedback or contact us route on your app.

YES ,UNFORTUNATELY ,ITS BASED IN LAGOS.!IM AFRAID I DONT KNOW KD WELL ENOUGH TO tell YOU WHERE to GO TO find Gastroenterologist...The light headedness, have you noticed in what position it happens. How long have you had it.week, months, years,?was it preceded by an infection of the ear?does it haooen upon standing up from sitting or lying down.do you get enough water to drink?

it happens when I get up from sitting and no,it is not preceded by an infection of the ear.
    Dr. Adedayo A answered:
ok....that sounds like what we call a postural drop of blood pressure or orthostatic hypotension....essentially in some people, their blood.pressure.drops when they go from sitting/lying to standing...what we advice is for you to get up more slowly, always stay well hydrated.it's unlikely anyone will prescribe any medications for you at this age except it's actually causing you to loose consciousness.
