Question Asked:

"good morning. my 2 years old baby doesn't speak clearly. his speech is still muddled up like that of a baby except for 2 words that he pronounces and can be heard. others still sound like gibberish although if you talk to him, he listens and understands instruction, am just feeling like he should be able to talk more clearly than he is now. what can I do?"

Good morning. This is nothing to worry about. Some children a bit slow to talk more coherently than others which does not mean they are not intelligent or have lower I.Q. Give him time and he will pick up. What you can do is register him to start school or creche. Children learn faster with their mates and teachers. Take care

okay. that j you for your response. he has been attending creche since 6months and he is now in playgroup, the more reason am bothered. I also wanted to ask if it could be as a result that he was preterm(32 weeks) Cus I noticed all his development is a bit slow like he walked at 1year 8months likewise crawling and all His paedetrician says he is fine but I can't just help the worry

As his mother, it's normal for you to worry. But you don't have to. He will catch up with his mates. Yes being born preterm may have played a part in the delayed milestones. But he will catch up. Please be patient with him. Best wishes
