Question Asked:

"Please I have been having this particular problem on and off. My vagina keeps itching and developing sores. This has been going on and off for about 6 months. I initially thought it was toilet infection but I am getting worried. It comes for about 2weeks and will get better then it will reoccur. It also disappears completely when I'm on my period. It's always itchy and when I start scratching, I start to have sores. Also I have heavy vaginal discharge during this period. Though most times, the discharge has no foul smell. Also, I noticed that the skin on my outer clitoris has been peeling a lot. Now, my boyfriend has also started to complain of his private part itching him. This is the second time it's occurring for him. I really need to know what this is."

Good evening. This seems to be a classical case of sexually transmitted infection. As a matter of urgency, I will advice you to visit a reputable doctor for proper examination and diagnosis. It requires your boyfriend to be treated at the same time as you to avoid re infection. Also, both of you need to abstain from sex or use Condom until you are cured. Please you need to be faithful to each other after the treatment as you risk infertility in the future. All the very best.

I may not be able to say which specifically as they all sounds similar but examination usually give it away as they have different lesions. It may be herpes or trichomiasis or any other. Your boyfriend also need to be faithful to prevent you from having it again. I will still advice you see a DOCTOR for proper treatment. Please emphasis on the use of Condom as it helps prevent such until you are married.
