not a sickle cell anemia patient and no transfusion... he was only having fever, mean high fever and even convulsed but the temperature is currently okay

o.k...26% is fairly low.he may likely have convulsed because he had a febrile convulsions.this can be due to malaria or a bacterial blood infection which can also account for the low PCV.is he admitted.your doctor may not be quick to want to transfusion if he is not showing any signs of a dropping ,pcv, heart failure, palpitations, dizziness etc. I expect he is in the hospital now getting treated.

yea, there's no such sign and he's getting treated but the issue is that he usually convulse each time he has fever of which i don't know the cause

Hello madam...at the age group of 6months to 6years, children are very prone to something we Drs call Febrile convulsions...children conclude because the temperature goes up to usually >38degree.it's generally not harmful even though I agree that it's scary for any mother, father and even your doctor to watch...it's also important causes of seizures like.meningitis have been ruled out by doing a CSF examination.once you notice a fever, take his clothes off, give him oral paracetamol and possibly tepid sponge him with normal tap water(lukewarm).

I try as much as i can to control the fever and he will always end up convulsing... it's very scary, I just hope he overgrow it
    Dr. Adedayo A answered:

yes ,he will outgrow it by age six maximum....if he is still convulsing after age 6,then there is something else going on.but I doubt it.Since he only convulses during fever episodes, then it's likely just febrile convulsions.
