Afternoon. When did you do the urine test? You can do a serum pregnancy test and an obstetrics scan to be sure it's not pregnancy. The blood you saw might be as a result of a threatened abortion. You should the ultrasound as soon as possible. Cheers

I did the urine test when I knew I was a month late to the last time I saw my period.

I have done the scan today and the report is anteverted uterus is seen with uniform myometrial echotexture. Noted within the uterus is an irregular gestational sac measuring about 11mm. No identifiable foetal pole seen. Features are those of missed abortion. Both adnexa and the pouch of Douglas are free.

Afternoon, unfortunately you had a miscarriage. With remnant of conception in the uterus. You need to have a manual vacuum aspiration done to remove it. Sorry about that.

What does manual vacuum aspiration mean, can't I be given drugs to wash it off

No, a manual aspiration would guarantee more complete evacuation that trying to induce an expulsion which could end up being more painful and leaving behind remnant which will now end up requiring an aspiration. Cheers
