hello, what kind of contraception did you use and for how many months or years were you on it?when specifically did you stop it?how regular is your menstrual cycle ?do you feel lower abdominal pain, spotting of blood, egg white vaginal discharge that stretches at any point in your cycle likely around the middle.do you know your fertile period?

The name is Noristerat injection. I started it in April 2015 and stopped in Dec 2015. my circle was not regular at First say for two months and later become regular, but was not ovulating after I complained to a doctor I did a test and ovulation was induced after two months of no ovulation. I started ovulating with various signs ranging from abnormal pains, white Egg stretch mucus etc but yet still didn't conceive.

Thanks for the detailed response to my questions. Everything looks fine from your side.Your inability to conceive is not likely due to the noristerat since your cycle is back and regular.how many children do you have already?do you live with your husband and do you have regular sex?has he done semen analysis?

I guess you meant twins.it is natural, but you have a better chance if it runs in your family or in your husband's family.Thats genetics.use of ovulation induction drugs also enhance the chances of having multiple pregnancy.it can be 2,3 or even 4 eventually. But it is strictly for women unable to ovulate and not for women looking for twins.

That could be normal. As long as it is not foul smelling,no vaginal itching.Around ovulation, it could be a sign of ovulation ,before bleeding,it could be a sign of the oncoming flow.

yes,it can affect the ovulation day as well, but we can't say specifically the number of days.that's why if you are trying to get pregnant, it is advised you have sex over all the fertile days(at least 4days before ovulation and 2 days after ovulation.this is so in order to cover for slight shifts in ovulation day.so that all the same, you will be covered.

I was supposed to see my period on Saturday but it did not come. I started cramping since on that Saturday but no blood came out. Yesterday, around 4pm, I urinated and wiped a very small quantity of blood (in fact hardly noticeable ). It was like that till around 12noon today; when I wiped, d quantity of the blood increased and it lasted for about 15minutes after which d blood started coming out like that of yesterday (pinkish). My question is, could it be implantation bleeding or infection? Also, is there any cause for alarm ie do I need to go and see my gynaecologist immediately or still wait a little more?
    Dr. Femi O answered:
hello and welcome back.with respect to the quantity of blood, its not likely implantation bleed.implantation bleed is supposed to be spotting of blood like you saw on the first day.you were supposed to see your menses on Saturday, today is Tuesday,3days delay is not bad actually. the most likely is that the bleeding is your normal menses.is it still flowing till now?

Actually, it was spotting cos I only saw d blood when I wiped and it did not even stain my pant. As of now, it has completely stopped, nothing is coming out again. Also, Saturday was d 28th day of my cycle but I treated malaria and typhoid so, I was thinking that there could be a delay cos of the treatment.
    Dr. Femi O answered:
yes there could be a delay because of the drugs.let's watch for 8 more days.you can then go for a pregnancy test using blood.it can also be a sign of pregnancy in the early stage.

Hello Doc., trust ur day is fine. I guess there would be no need to run a PT test as it seems my period for this month only played pranks on me( disappointed though) . Yesterday, d blood started flowing, though not heavy at all, but it was consistent and I wiped bloody mucous and clots. Till this morning it was still like that, real blood, bloody mucous, clots and consistent. My issue now is, I still urinate frequently, what can that be? Also, how do I calculate this particular cycle considering that, spotting started on d 2nd, and d flow started on d 5th? Lastly, I still have cramps, do I need to be bothered or I should just hold my peace?
    Dr. Femi O answered:
hello, the day has been ok.Oh am sorry to hear this.but it just means you have to try again in the next cycle.you don't have to adjust the planner because of the recent change(spotting on 2nd,flow on 5th).that could just be a one-time change.its advisable you follow the initial pattern your cycle has been taking.so don't reset your cycle planner for now.About the cramps, you can take buscopan tablets 20mg twice a day for 3days.Am still curious about this last flow.did you notice any flesh in it?

it is possible.it can occur with just small cramps.the pain doesn't have to be that bad.what gives it off is a period of missed or late menses and or a positive pregnancy test and then ultrasound to confirm.the first step is pregnancy test(blood preferably).

    Dr. Femi O answered:

hello,it has been fine.and yours?hmnnnn, now that we have a positive PT,it mean you were pregnant.Just as i feared.Next step is an ultrasound scan.it will show if the uterus is gravid(pregnant),if the conceptus is intact or not,if not intact,it will tell us if products are left inside the uterus after the miscarriage.three possible outcomes here 1)a complete miscarriage(you go on and attempt another pregnancy later. 2)incomplete (you will need further treatment to prevent sepsis/infection) 3)Intact (that means the pregnancy is fine) are you still seeing blood?

Good evening Doc, how was your day? can urinating after sex affect the sperm from going in especially when you want to be pregnant?
    Dr. Femi O answered:
Good evening ma'am, sure you had a good day?well, normally, some semen are bound to flow back after sex. However,Note that the volume left in the genital tract of the female is adequate enough to get you pregnant. Meanwhile, getting up to pee may push more of the semen out (effect of gravity and pushing aimed at forcing urine out).So we may rightly say that staying on bed, lying with the back down should minimize the outflow. So its better you don't pee immediately after sex.keep more of the semen in since you want more babies.how is your child doing?
    Doctors avatar

    Dr. Femi O answered:
hello, its can't be specified.just stay for few minutes,20-30mins is ok.its just to allow more of the semen stay in.that pressure to pass feaces could be due to relationship of the vaginal wall and the rectum(which stores feaces). The back wall of the vagina is directly in front of the front wall of the rectum.so that feeling to pass feaces may come after sex, especially if your rectum was even filled with feaces initially. do not worry about this .

is excessive growth of yeast in the vagina that results in irritation. The most common symptoms are vaginal itching, burning with urination, white and thick vaginal discharge that typically does not smell bad.It is not classified as a sexually transmitted infection, however, it may occur more often in those who are frequently sexually active.Risk factors include taking antibiotics , pregnancy, diabetes, and HIV/AIDS.treatment if by antifungals, fluconazole capsules and vaginal inserts(antifungals).wearing lose undergarments, avoiding cotton pants, avoiding vaginal douching and multiple sex partners are preventive measures.

hello,it doesn't affect conception because its in the vagina and not the uterus or fallopian tubes. But it can affect the natural environment in which the sperm cells should swim in the vagina. Some of the VERY rare side effects of untreated yeast infections are headaches, mood swings, mouth problems such as sores and blisters, fatigue and gastrointestinal difficulties. These are very rare anyway.

Does it mean that ovulation can last for 5 days? I'm particularly curious cos I'd never experienced anything like this before.
    Dr. Femi O answered:
Ovulation occurs just in a day,but the pain due to the effects may last for few days.this is because during ovulation, a follicle on the ovary ruptures and expels an egg. This releases some extra fluid, and the extra fluid may lead to a dull ache. The sharp, sudden pain some women feel may be caused by the egg itself, bursting out of the follicle. Spasms of the fallopian tubes or uterus as ovulation approaches may be another possible cause.

Ookkk, I now get it. So, what is d percentage of pregnancy if I have sex with my husband from today cos d cycle planner says this is my free period and considering that d egg has been released like 3/4 days ago?

The chance is low now.since your egg lasts for 24-48hrs before degrading.you can still try since the chance is not zero.
