Hello madam, I can understand your concern, I am not sure why you were placed on any medication even before your husband has had a semen analysis done. it is impt for him to have this done to establish that you both are ok.if something is found then it will be addressed if nothing is found then you just keep trying. I am here if you have more specific questions. take care

ok good. we tried doing that once in our hospital but were told it wasn't covered by our Hmo. can we do the seven analysis in any lab? Can u suggest a standard lab and d cost of the test?

I can't specifically give you the name of any lab but the lab in any government hospital will do.also if you want recommendation/referral from Kangpe just email findadoctor@kanpe.com. the semen analysis is the one way to be sure the semen is fine in quantity, sperm number, morphology and motility.all these parameters are checked because they tell the health of the sperm. I hope you have a gynaecologist you are registered with. regarding your own tests it should have included an ultrasound, 21-day progesterone to confirm your ovulating, other female hormone levels too. here for any further queries . cheers

How can MRSA be treated to stop foul/fishy smell? Is there a particular antibiotic to be taken?
    Dr. Augustine I answered:
Hello madam, MRSA is a methicillin resistant strain of staphylococcus aureus. it is difficult to eradicate but there is a regimen for it. if you had a swab that grew MRSA then you can get the appropriate antibiotics from a hospital. here if you have more questions

I had a swab test done and was treated for staph but d discharge continued. I bought antibiotics over d counter but that didn't help. I just started taking Augmentin again cos I can still smell me and there's stl little white discharge. can I use d insertion tablet mycoten?
    Dr. Augustine I answered:

Hello madam, staph aureus lives naturally on your skin and vagina and growing that from a HVS is a contaminant and doesn't require treatment. mycoten will work if it is a fungi.i will advice you go to a proper lab or better still let a doctor take the specimen using a speculum to avoid contamination and then take it to the lab.your result will be available in 3days and your can then get an appropriate/adequate treatment.its better done this way than to continue empirical treatment.

Also my doctor said staph could be gotten from improper wiping. is this correct?
    Dr. Augustine I answered:

staph is not one of the bowel organisms, those are the ones you can get from wiping back to front after going to toilet.a lot of the time people are told they have staph infection but this is just a contamination except for a specific type that can cause urinary tract Infection. I hope it's clearer now.

thank you. But my doctor thinks I should go for a HSG to know if my tunes are in order since I've bn trying to conceive for over a year now. my husband has done a seminal fluid analysis and he is OK. I also noticed that sperm leaks out many hours after Intercourse. what could be the cause of this? do u advise I go for d HSG as recommended since d ultrasound only shows d location and size of d fibroid but can't ascertain whether it's blocking d tunes.
    Dr. Augustine I answered:

Hello again, going for HSG is not a bad idea at all.just to ascertain the tubes are patent.dont worry about some semen leaking out that is normal.just know that not everything comes out but if you want you can lie on your back after ejaculation but the semen that get into the back of the vagina will still come out later.dont work about it.
