    This is as a result of poor immune/defence system. The cells meant to tackle such organisms are deficient in function.Note that Sickle cell patients are susceptible to malaria.malaria is one of the precipitants of crisis in them.Those with sickle cell trait(AS) are less susceptible to malaria
