Sorry about that. The oral cavity is just one of the many sources halitosis. As you have said, it can be from your throat, it can also be from your oesophagus. Some chest diseases like Emphysema can give halitosis. Indigestion or poor digestion of protein has also been implicated as a cause. The dental causes cannot be ruled out also.
If the dentists have certified that it's not coming from your teeth, then you need to explore other sources.
Have you been treated for any chest infection before now? Are you coughing? Do you take plenty of meat? Which type of fruit do you take? Do you smoke or take alcohol?
We can start with these questions, then I will see where you go from there.
