Good morning. A yellowish discoloration maybe extrinsic or intrinsic in nature. The intrinsic commonly is caused by tetracycline staining probably taken during your pregnancy/tooth formation. In this case, even scaling and polishing won't help much. The extrinsic type whereby your teeth picks stains from food and drinks you take, am afraid toothpaste won't help much, you will greatly benefit form scaling and polishing. This removes such stains and other adherent deposits. You should brush twice a day with any fluoride containing toothpaste and a medium bristle toothbrush. Avoid the use of mouthwash, it causes tooth discoloration.
