Question Asked:

"Goodafternoon, please I need an advice about my mom. she is hypertensive and she's on drugs but at times her bp will drop drastically causing heart rate increase (Heart palpitation) her pulse will rise to 160-170 it keeps fluctuating then a sudden heat n sweat will full her body. I took her to the hospital and she did ECG n xray which said she has Sinus Tychardia. The doctor gave her medications which she has been on. Just last friday making exactly 2wks she left the hospital, I checked her bp in the morning before going to work it was 112/70 then she took her bp drugs after I left for work because my sister checked her bp again it was around 124/88. but that evening on friday that same crisis started again, I hate to see her in that condition because it scares the h*ll outta me. Please what can be done to avoid that peddy drama to happen again. Please I need an advice. if u want me to snap the results I am willing to do so?"

Hello sir. I am sorry about what your Mum is going through. It was good you took her to the hospital, however she needs specialist care and a Cardiologist to manage her appropriately. She will be asked to do other investigations like Echo probably a repeat ECG Chest xray, blood sugar, lipid profile and electrolytes to determine the appropriate medications to prescribe. You can use a Cardiologist at a general or teaching hospital close to you or if you need one in a private hospital you may send an email to findadoctor@kangpe.com stating your needs, address and contact number. Please do this asap so your Mum can feel better in time. All the best.

Hello sir, there are two attachments but I am sorry I am not able to view them. Some medications work better if she is diabetic and hypertensive than if she only hypertensive. She may be also asked to check her kidney function as specific medications need to be given too. The best approach is for a Cardiologist and/or Endocrinologist to see her and manage her in totality, the best approach will be the teaching hospital. If you need further help pr clarifications please feel free to ask. Take care now.

Hello. Yes I got the results. An electrolyte and renal function tests have been indicated as important. As i mentioned earlier you need to let your Mum see a specialist. Results are better interpreted with the patient in attendance and appropritae managment will be instituted. The renal test is important as the kidney helos in control of the heart and blood sugar. All the best

The results showed that your Mum has an old MI meaning myocardial infarction which we know as heart attack. She is probably experiencing some electrolytes inbalances too. She needs to get a lipid profile and renak function test. There is no way I or any other Doctor can manage her without seeing her and checking her vital signs by examining her. Since she is exeriencing symptoms please take her to see a Cardiologist. I hope i have answered your question sir.

Hello sir. I can understand you and please ask any question you need to. If she is doing well on the medication it should do for now. When you see the cardiologist make sure you take along all medications she is on and test results to show. He/She may refer you to an Endocrinologist for a better management of her blood sugar. All the best and thank you for using Kangpe.
