    hello, i don't know how high the reading was, however, a single blood pressure reading is not enough to make the diagnosis of hypertension. because of the family history of hypertension i will advice that you go see a doctor and get serial blood pressure measurement. this will help make a diagnosis. Also try and keep fit because exercise is important in maintaining a healthy heart and reduce fat intake. cheers
