Hello madam.Good morning. This is difficult to say because it's happened only once....One of the commonest causes of painless periods beyond 7 days are uterine fibroids and thyroid problems.(normal period length is btw 2 to 7 days) painful causes are something called endometriosis or adenomyosis (womb wall tissue found in abnormal places)..Other painful causes are pelvic inflammatory disease. Other times nothing is found as a cause. because it's happened only once, I'd advise that you please wait and see what happens with the next 2 cycles. If it continues, then please see your doctor for investigations and treatment.
