"Evening Docs, pls I have been having both cough and catarrh for over three weeks now and which I have taken three different drugs in which two are syrups and the third one is a tablet but yet there has not being any improvement, also every morning since d cough and catarrh started, I always feel bitterness in my mouth. The medicines are taken on different occasions not at once. I took them one after the other once one finish and no improvement, I buy another one. pls what can be the cause of a prolonged cough and catarrh and what can u prescribed. and also note that iam Hale and healthy, no any other symptoms apart from the one mentioned, I sleep and eat regularly, no any sign of malaria or fever at all, pls can dat mean a sign of any other thing?"

    Evening,I understand how u are feeling.Is there any fever,any headache,is the cough productive or not.This could just be an upper respiratory tract infection which will nessessitate u to take a proper antibiotics,analgesic and an antihistamine medication,u are experiencing persistence due to wrong choice of medication which u are purchasing without a doc prescription,the weather condition do not help as well,and u can never rule out u not having malaria as we are living in a malaria endemic area.I will suggest u see a doc to assess u and manage appropriately but just before that u can tab loratidine 10mg stat and paracetamol,see a doc for antibiotics
