hello, congratulations on your pregnancy.Am glad u want to know about malaria in pregnancy.it's a common cause of anemia in pregnancy.prevention starts from ur home.cut surrounding bushes, net your windows and doors sleep under insecticide treated net.During antenatal,u should get two doses of intermittent preventive therapy for malaria.some centres use fansidar(sulphadoxine and pyrimethamine combined),some use metaprim (pyrimethamine only).so definitely, fansidar is better.note that it should be taken after u av noticed movement of ur baby (kicking) and not after 36weeks to prevent jaundice and also 4wks apart.prevention of jaundice in a baby will surely be covered by ur antenatal if taken well. normal jaundice may occur.ur doctor will explain beta
